![]() The Frisco Urgent Care has recently added a new piece of equipment to their growing facility to help with your diagnostic care. It's a new digital X-ray machine and its much faster and easier than the traditional X-ray machine. The digital X-ray machine means no more waiting for film to develop; your X-rays are ready immediately and that means less worrying. The doctor will be able to take a look at the images as soon as it is taken and make a determination on the spot. The digital X-ray uses invisible electromagnetic energy beams, a special sensor array, and computers to produce images of bones, soft internal tissues, and organs on a computer screen. X-rays are performed for various diagnostic reasons, including identifying broken bones. General Electric and EG&G combined to create this new device. The sensor array is about the size of a pizza box, made of a special glass silicon-coated panel. Doctors say the resolution is better than a traditional X-ray machine and provides much more detail. Traditional X-ray machines require the technician to change out film cartridges and then the develop film, which takes time, and some things, like such as tiny fractures, can be missed on the film. With the higher resolution digital images and the ability to zoom-in on details, the doctor can see things that might otherwise be missed with traditional X-rays. The new X-ray technology also allows Frisco Urgent Care electronically exchange digital X-ray files with remote locations. Your X-rays can be sent to a specialist if needed, or received from a previous or referring physician. This advancement in technology is not available everywhere. Frisco Urgent Care wants you to know that we care about your health and well being, that's why we offer the new digital X-ray machine. Its one other the medical technologies that helps us take better care of you. ©2010 Frisco Urgent Care & Clinics All Rights Reserved
